Job summary

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with additional needs, liaising with SENCO and staff.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
• Uphold Teachers' Standards in all duties.
• Maintain effective behaviour management.

A warm and supportive primary school in Bury is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KS1 Teacher to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis. About the Role

You will take responsibility for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging lessons for KS1 pupils in line with the National Curriculum, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where all pupils feel supported and motivated.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver creative, engaging KS1 lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
• Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, adapting teaching where required.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
• Support pupils with additional needs, working closely with the SENCO and support staff.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
• Uphold the school's behaviour policy and promote positive behaviour for learning.
• Fulfil all professional responsibilities in line with the Teachers' Standards.
• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or is an Early Career Teacher (ECT).
• Has experience teaching in a UK primary school setting.
• Strong knowledge of the KS1 Primary National Curriculum.
• Confident classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Passionate, flexible, and committed to raising attainment.
• Has the right to work in the UK and is available full-time.

Desirable (but not essential)

• Previous experience teaching across KS1.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN.
• Strong subject knowledge in core subjects.
• Experience working within a primary school setting.
