Job summary

The Blue Coat School is seeking a dedicated classroom teacher for the Pre-Prep to promote high standards of learning and welfare. You will plan and deliver engaging lessons, assess progress, and work with Teaching Assistants to support individual pupil development.

You will maintain high expectations, contribute to school events, and ensure children’s safety and wellbeing in line with EYFS and safeguarding guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver the teaching programme for all pupils within the classes allocated, liaising with Teaching Assistants and adhering to school aims and policies.
• Provide clear planning for lessons and sequences of lessons that maintain pace, motivation and challenge.
• Use a variety of teaching styles, with differentiation, and give constructive feedback to ensure progress across classes and individuals.
• Contribute to assessment for learning to inform planning and set next steps targets.
• Support pupils with learning needs by liaising with SENCOs and contributing to Individual Pupil Plans where appropriate.
• Support the school’s safeguarding and child protection policies and participate in meetings with colleagues and parents.
