Job summary

Booker is recruiting a Transport Team Manager to support the site management team in efficient, safe and cost-effective transport operations across FMCG distribution.

You will lead KPI-driven transport activities, manage vehicle breakdowns, monitor tachograph infringements, and ensure legal compliance with Driver hours and fleet maintenance.

This role involves shift patterns 6am-10pm over five days in seven, requiring strong people skills and a collaborative approach to keep service levels high.

Qualifications

• Experience with transport legislation and Operator Licence.
• Knowledge of multi-temperature warehouse/transport procedures.
• Ability to plan labour and resources to deliver operational requirements and meet KPI targets.

Responsibilities

• Support site management in efficient, safe, legal, and cost-effective transport operations.
• Manage vehicle breakdowns and minimise impact on retailers.
• Analyse tachograph infringements and discuss with drivers; liaise with Warehouse for loading/departure.
• Ensure compliance with transport legislation, Driver hours, and fleet maintenance/defect management.
• Drive improvements by engaging the team and maintaining a positive culture.
