Job summary

Mercor seeks a native Korean annotator to map and transcribe Korean documents with exacting accuracy. You will identify sections such as titles, headings, paragraphs, tables, figures, and captions, assign types, and preserve reading order across multi-column layouts.

You will verify content, ensure text is transcribed Hangul faithfully, and flag illegible regions. Work proceeds with strict review by a second Korean expert, supporting consistent taxonomy across hundreds of pages and complex

Qualifications

• Native Korean speaker with full command of Hangul and hanja where present.
• Experience in bilingual transcription, translation, or AI training data is advantageous.
• Meticulous work with emphasis on character-level accuracy and consistent taxonomy.

Responsibilities

• Open and check tasks: ensure the page is Korean, legible, with no personal details.
• Annotate structure: bound every meaningful region and assign type + reading order index.
• Record relationships: link regions to their parent figure/table where applicable.
• Transcribe faithfully: reproduce Hangul text exactly, flag illegible regions.
• Capture metadata: language, document type, source, page dimensions, handwriting/handwritten flags.
• Review work: undergo second-expert review to ensure correctness on first pass.
