Mercor is seeking a native Japanese annotator to precisely capture and bound every meaningful region on complex Japanese documents. You will annotate structure, transcribe text character-for-character, and ensure reading order reflects vertical and multi-column layouts.

You will also capture metadata and participate in peer reviews to guarantee first-time quality. The role requires meticulous attention to detail and a background in transcription, journalism, or editorial work, with experience

Qualificações

• Native Japanese; full command of kanji, hiragana and katakana.
• Character‑level accuracy is essential; exact transcription.
• Experience in interpretation, journalism, transcription, or editorial work is desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Open and verify each task is in Japanese, legible, content present, and free of personal data.
• Annotate structure by bounding regions and assigning a component type and reading order index.
• Record relationships by linking regions to their parent figure or table.
• Transcribe faithfully: reproduce all text including kanji, kana, furigana and handwritten content.
• Capture page metadata: language, document type, source, page dimensions, and flags for tables, formulas and handwriting.
• Undergo peer review where a second Japanese expert validates the work.
