Job summary

Stonegate Pub Company’s Slug & Lettuce at Friar Street, Reading, is seeking a Kitchen Team Member to support food preparation, stock control, and hygiene while learning and growing in a busy kitchen environment.

You will work with the Head Chef to help deliver high standards and tasty dishes, contributing to a friendly, inclusive team within a vibrant hospitality setting.

Qualifications

• Passion for hospitality and guest service.
• Willingness to learn new skills daily.
• Ability to assist Head Chef with orders, stock taking and food hygiene.
• Experience maintaining kitchen equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation.
• Produce high-quality dishes to specification.
• Keep the kitchen clean and hygienic at all times.
• Suggest ideas to improve kitchen performance.

Some of the things you will be doing as a Kitchen Team Member

• Assisting with food preparation.
• Produce high-quality dishes consistently to specification for our guests.
• Ensure the kitchen is in an excellent, clean and hygienic condition at all times.
• Offer suggestions and creative ideas that can improve the kitchen’s performance.
• Work with the team to achieve company targets.
