Job summary

Slug & Lettuce Newcastle, part of the Stonegate Group, is seeking a Kitchen Team Member to assist the Head Chef with orders, stock taking and food hygiene, while producing high-quality dishes to specification for guests.

You will work in a busy pub kitchen, contribute ideas to improve performance, maintain a clean, safe environment, and collaborate with the team to hit company targets in a friendly, inclusive setting.

Qualifications

• Passion for hospitality and guest experience.
• Willingness to learn new skills daily.
• Keen eye for detail to maintain quality and hygiene.
• Ability to assist Head Chef with orders, stock taking, and food hygiene.
• Experience or ability to maintain kitchen equipment and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation.
• Produce high-quality dishes to specification for guests.

• Assisting with food preparation.
• Produce high-quality dishes consistently to specification for our guests.
• Ensure the kitchen is in an excellent, clean and hygienic condition at all times.
• Overseeing deliveries.
• Offer suggestions and creative ideas that can improve the kitchen’s performance.
• Work with the team to achieve company targets.
