Job summary

Slug & Lettuce Friar Street in Reading is seeking a Kitchen Team Member to support the Head Chef with orders, stock taking and food hygiene, helping maintain high standards in a fast‑paced kitchen.

You will produce high‑quality dishes, oversee deliveries, keep the kitchen clean and well organised, and contribute ideas to improve performance while enjoying team benefits under Stonegate Group.

Qualifications

• Passion for hospitality and helping in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Willingness to learn new skills every day.
• Keen eye for detail and accuracy in food preparation and hygiene.
• Ability to assist with orders and stock taking under Head Chef supervision.
• Experience or readiness to maintain kitchen equipment and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and produce high‑quality dishes to specification.
• Ensure the kitchen is clean and hygienic at all times and compliant with standards.
• Oversee deliveries and manage stock where required.
• Provide ideas to improve kitchen performance and efficiency.
• Collaborate with the team to meet company targets and guest expectations.
