Job summary

Premier Inn Leeds South (Birstall) is seeking a Kitchen Team Leader to run the kitchen daily, control rotas, place orders and lead the team through busy services. You’ll work with the Hotel Manager to maintain food quality, hygiene and zero-defect service in a hands-on leadership role.

The role offers 32 hours per week with a pay rate of up to £14.31 per hour. This is a pathway to higher chef roles within Whitbread, based at Wakefield Road, Drighlington, Leeds.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a kitchen team and managing rosters.
• Experience placing food orders and controlling stock.
• Ability to drive hygiene and food safety standards.
• Strong leadership during busy service periods.

Responsibilities

• Own food ordering, stock control and keeping food costs on track for the entire hotel
• Take the lead during service – organising the team, managing workflow, and ensuring everything runs smoothly
• Prepare, cook, and serve menu items to spec, including Premier Inn breakfasts and pub classics
• Ensure health, safety and hygiene standards are met and records kept up to date
• Step up when needed – running shifts and helping new team members settle in
• Learn kitchen management to progress to more senior roles within Whitbread
