Job summary

Greene King is seeking an Apprentice Kitchen Team Leader at Pub & Grill to guide front-of-house teams and ensure a 5-star guest experience while delivering great food and drinks.

You will learn to prepare, cook, present dishes, support the kitchen during busy shifts, maintain high hygiene standards, and help manage stock and service flow. Our apprenticeship combines on-the-job training with mentor support to build leadership and culinary skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and present food to brand standards; ensure every dish is served with pride.
• Support and guide the kitchen team; organise service and maintain high performance during busy shifts.
• Deputise for the Kitchen Manager or senior chefs when required; help resolve issues and keep service running smoothly.
• Ensure all food hygiene, health & safety, and cleanliness standards are consistently met.
• Monitor stock levels, food preparation, and kitchen organisation for efficient service.

As an Apprentice Kitchen Team Leader, you will…

What your apprenticeship includes:

• You won't need to attend college, our apprenticeships are delivered through work-based training which includes a mixture of face-to-face sessions and remote Team calls with your Lifetime Learner Coach every 6 weeks. You will also have a mentor within the workplace to support you.
• Obtain Functional Skills in English and Maths, with support tailored to your needs (if you don't already have GCSE or equivalents)
• Reviews every 12 weeks with the Apprentice, Line Manager and Lifetime Learner Coach including feedback sessions.
