Job summary

Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK) is seeking a Kitchen Team Leader in London to help run busy kitchen operations, work closely with the Kitchen Manager and ensure every burger meets the brand’s high standards.

You’ll lead a team of chefs and kitchen staff, train and motivate the crew, manage stock and orders, and uphold food safety while delivering consistently excellent food.

This role combines hands-on cooking leadership with strong organisational skills in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in kitchen management or head chef roles.
• Ability to lead and train a busy kitchen team.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene.
• Well-organised with good stock and rota management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the kitchen in the absence of the Kitchen Manager, ensuring smooth prep to plating.
• Inspire and manage chefs and staff to maintain high standards.
• Maintain GBK quality in taste and presentation.
• Manage stock, orders and cost control without compromising quality.
• Uphold food safety and hygiene standards.

• Help Maintain Quality:Ensure every dish that leaves the kitchen meets GBK’s high standards for taste, presentation, and quality. You’ll be the guardian of our famous burgers!
• Help Manage Stock & Orders:Keep the kitchen stocked with the freshest ingredients, manage orders, and ensure cost efficiency without compromising on quality.
• Ensure Safety & Cleanliness:Uphold the highest standards of food hygiene and kitchen safety, making sure everything is spick and span and in line with health regulations.

• Experience:Proven experience in a kitchen management or head chef role, preferably in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Leadership Skills:Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team under pressure.
• Culinary Passion:A deep love for food and cooking, with a particular passion for creating gourmet burgers that wow our customers.
• Organisational Skills:Excellent organisational abilities to manage the kitchen’s operations, from stock control to team rotas.
• Attention to Detail:A keen eye for detail to ensure every plate leaving the kitchen is perfect.
