Job summary

Malt Shovel, part of Mitchells & Butlers, is seeking a Kitchen Team Leader to support the Head Chef in building a kitchen to be proud of with a passion for great food and team development.

You will train and motivate Chefs, manage shifts and stock, and ensure adherence to the menu and brand standards while upholding health and hygiene regulations. The role offers progression and a supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• Experience leading kitchen teams and delivering consistent quality.
• Knowledge of safety, HACCP or similar standards is important.
• Ability to train and develop staff to meet brand standards.

Responsibilities

• Train and inspire Chefs and Kitchen Team to deliver great dishes.
• Help smash targets with the team and manage shifts.
• Assist with food ordering, stock control and portions.
• Work with a branded menu and maintain hygiene compliance.
• Ensure the team adheres to health and safety regulations.
