Job summary

WHQS is seeking an experienced Kitchen Surveyor/Designer to work across Birmingham, Coventry and West Midlands areas. This self-employed role offers a day rate from £135 plus mileage, with travel to sites and home-based administration.

You will design kitchens for tenanted properties using Fusion 2020 CAD, Wren Planner or Winner, ensuring regulatory compliance and Right First Time delivery. IT skills and driving are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in completing Kitchen designs within occupied properties.
• Proficient in Kitchen design software (Fusion 2020 CAD, Wren Planner or Winner).
• Familiar with Gas regulatory requirements and social housing guidelines.
• Excellent IT skills and strong communication abilities.
• Good time management and customer service mindset.
• Own car and willingness to travel regionally, with possible overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• liaise closely with partnered contractors on kitchen replacement programmes.
• Deliver Right First Time kitchen designs within occupied properties.
• Manage diary and proactively contact sites to obtain addresses; prioritize clear communication.
• Provide in-situ kitchen design service for social housing clients; not a sales role.
• Expect regular regional travel and occasional overnight stays.

Kitchen Surveyor/Designer | Birmingham, Coventry & West Midlands areas | Monday to Friday; no weekends| Self-Employed Position | Starting salary from £135 per day + mileage expenses. Salary depending on experience & location

Our Clients our looking for experienced Kitchen Designers/Surveyors to work in Social Housing Tenanted properties in the West Midlands and surrounding areas. You will have good knowledge of Social Housing Kitchen requirements, guidelines and regulations, and will be required to work closely with our partnered Kitchen Manufacturers and Contractors, to provide the very best in-situ Kitchen Survey & Design service available throughout the UK

Their work consists of long term projects within the Social Housing sector, working on large scale Kitchen improvement programmes for Local Authorities & Housing Associations within Tenanted homes, and void properties.

This is a perfect opportunity for an experienced Kitchen Surveyor/Designer looking for a better work/life balance, working Monday to Friday, and being based from home and travelling to site each day. You will then return home to complete your daily administration tasks relating to your survey day.

The ideal applicant will be customer service driven, have a "Right First Time" approach, and have a "can-do" attitude, and be experienced in using either Fusion 2020 CAD, Wren Planner, Winner, or a similar Kitchen design software package, along with having excellent IT & communication skills.

Are you the right person for the job?

• Applicants will require experience in completing Kitchen designs within occupied properties, and will require experience in using Kitchen design software.
• You will need to be familiar with current regulations (specifically Gas), good practice guidelines set by Social Housing providers, and have an excellent knowledge of providing a safe, practical kitchen design within Tenanted homes
• You will have excellent IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PDF and Outlook
• You will need to manage your time effectively, and have excellent communication & Customer service skills.
• Occasional overnight stays away from home may be required
• Your own car is essential to fulfilling this role; mileage allowance is payable
• This is a self-employed position with a day rate + mileage allowance

What will your role look like?

You will liaise closely with our Partnered Contractors on Kitchen replacement Main Improvement Programmes on behalf of our Partnered Clients

You will deliver "Right 1st Time" Kitchen Designs within occupied properties for our Social Housing Clients, working to a design brief for each site

Your diary will be managed for you, but you will be required to contact your sites in advance, to obtain the property addresses; so clear proactive communication is essential

This is not a sales based role, as our main focus is providing our partnered Clients and Contractors with the very best in-situ kitchen design service available throughout the UK

Applicants should expect regular regional travel and very occasional overnight stays
