Job summary

Butcombe Group is seeking a Trainee Chef to start a rewarding culinary journey in one of our bustling pubs and inns. You’ll learn by doing, supported by a team of experienced chefs, and you’ll help prepare and present high-quality dishes in a fast-paced kitchen.

You’ll follow company standards, gain hands-on training, and develop your skills across menus while enjoying flexible working, employee benefits, and clear opportunities for progression within a supportive hospitality group.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the kitchen team in the preparation and delivery of high-quality, freshly cooked food
• Learning how to cook and present dishes in line with company standards and menu specifications
• Assisting with basic food preparation, including chopping, portioning, and organising ingredients
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety across all kitchen areas
• Supporting stock rotation, deliveries, and ensuring ingredients are stored correctly
• Working closely with experienced chefs to develop your skills and confidence in a professional kitchen
• Following all health & safety, food safety, and kitchen procedures at all times
• Bringing a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a strong team spirit to every shift
