Job summary

Thomas Franks Ltd. is seeking a Kitchen Porter to join our team at a prestigious London location. This term-time, full-time contract covers 32 hours per week across 40 weeks per year and includes responsibilities to keep the kitchen hygienic and compliant with high cleanliness standards.

You will assist chefs with food preparation and maintain equipment, with opportunities for training and development in a supportive school catering environment.

Qualifications

• Experience of pot wash duties is advantageous.

Kitchen Porter (Term Time Only) London Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: 18169
Hours: 32 per week

A small independent pre-prep day school for girls and part of a large group of schools. Set in the heart of gorgeous Kensington, London. Catering for about 50 students and teachers. We offer a core feeding of Lunch & mid morning snack. There will be some amount of hospitality offering at this location. This is a term time only contract working 40 weeks a year. This school operates Monday to Friday.

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Kitchen Porter to join our established & friendly team at our prestigious location in London.

You'll be playing a big part in keeping the kitchen hygienic, safe, and up to our very high standards of cleanliness.

Key skills:

• Experience of pot wash duties would be an advantage
• Excellent customer service skills
• Great team player
• Be able to help the Chefs with some food prep
• Ensure high standards of cleanliness at all times
• Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment
• Clean allocated pieces of heavy catering equipment using instructions and cleaning materials including air filter and extraction systems.
• Operate industrial dishwasher

We are looking for:

• Kitchen Porter experience is preferred, but not essential.
• Can do attitude.
• Organisation Skills.

Knowledge / competencies:

• Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good understanding and use of verbal English.
• Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good standard of written English and reading skills.
• Similar experience of customer and / or food preparation environment is preferred
