Job summary

The Glasgow Argyle Hotel, part of the Signature Collection by Best Western, is seeking a reliable Kitchen Porter to join our kitchen team. You will support chefs with cleanliness, preparation and set‑up to keep the kitchen running smoothly and safely.

This role emphasizes teamwork, attention to hygiene, and efficient operation behind the scenes, with opportunities to learn and contribute to a high‑quality dining experience for guests.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Wash and clean dishes, pots, pans and kitchen equipment thoroughly and efficiently.
• Keep all kitchen areas clean, tidy and organised throughout the shift.
• Sweep and mop floors and manage waste and recycling responsibly.
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling and chopping vegetables.
• Receive, check and store deliveries of food and kitchen supplies correctly.
• Support kitchen set-up and close-down procedures.
• Clean cooking equipment and work surfaces to hygiene standards.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene and health & safety guidelines at all times.
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to support smooth service.
• Report any maintenance, hygiene or health & safety concerns promptly.
