Job summary

The Forest Hotel in the United Kingdom is seeking a reliable, hardworking Full-Time Kitchen Porter to join a busy kitchen team. You will help keep the kitchen clean, organised and running smoothly, supporting chefs to deliver a great guest experience.

Full training is provided if needed, and you will work in a friendly environment with 48 hours per week across 5 days. Benefits include staff meals, tips sharing and discounted stays/meals for you and up to 4 guests.

Qualifications

• Reliability and punctuality are essential for 5-day week shifts.
• Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen and take direction.
• Previous kitchen porter or hospitality experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate the dishwasher and keep crockery and cutlery clean and ready.
• Maintain high cleanliness and hygiene in kitchen and wash areas.
• Keep surfaces, equipment and floors tidy and sanitised.
• Assist chefs with basic food preparation when needed.
• Ensure utensils and equipment are available for the team.
• Handle waste disposal and recycling correctly.
• Assist with deliveries, stock rotation and storage.
• Follow food hygiene and health and safety procedures.
• Support daily operations to keep the kitchen running smoothly.

Job description

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and enthusiastic Full-Time Kitchen Porter to join our busy kitchen team at The Forest Hotel.

You will play an important role in keeping our kitchen clean, organised and running smoothly, supporting our chefs and wider team to deliver an excellent experience for our guests.

Previous experience is desirable but not essential, as full training can be provided for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate the commercial dishwasher and ensure all crockery, cutlery, pots and pans are cleaned efficiently.
• Maintain excellent cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen and washing-up areas.
• Keep kitchen equipment, work surfaces and floors clean, tidy and sanitised.
• Assist chefs with basic food preparation when required.
• Ensure clean utensils and equipment are always available to the kitchen team.
• Manage waste disposal and recycling correctly.
• Assist with deliveries, stock rotation and the safe storage of supplies.
• Follow food hygiene, health and safety procedures at all times.
• Support the kitchen team with general duties to ensure the smooth running of daily operations.
