Job summary

The Lion Inn, Boreham, Chelmsford, Essex is seeking a Kitchen Porter to join our busy kitchen team. You'll help keep the kitchen clean, organised and running smoothly, supporting chefs and maintaining high hygiene standards.

No prior kitchen experience is required as full training will be provided; you’ll gain skills in handling deliveries, basic food preparation, and working as part of a friendly team in a welcoming hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Wash and store kitchen equipment, crockery, cutlery and utensils.
• Keep all kitchen areas clean, tidy and hygienic throughout the day.
• Assist with receiving, checking and storing deliveries.
• Dispose of waste safely and ensure recycling procedures are followed.
• Support chefs with basic food preparation as required.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and health & safety.
• Ensure kitchen equipment and workstations are clean and ready for service.
• Work as part of a busy team to help deliver an excellent service.
