Job summary

Cosmo Authentic World Kitchen Bournemouth is seeking a Kitchen Porter to support our busy kitchen team. You will help wash dishes, maintain cleanliness, assist with basic tasks, and ensure safe, efficient operation during service.

Previous kitchen experience is an advantage, but enthusiasm, reliability and a strong understanding of hygiene are essential. You’ll join a friendly, fast-paced environment with opportunities for on-the-job training and career development.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen or food service is an advantage but not required.
• Strong understanding of kitchen hygiene and safety practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.
• Physical stamina to lift and stand for long hours.
• Willingness to learn and take on new tasks.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, ensuring they are cleaned thoroughly and promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, including work surfaces, floors, and equipment.
• Assist in food preparation and basic tasks as required by chefs.
• Help manage kitchen waste and dispose of rubbish correctly.
• Ensure that all kitchen tools and equipment are stored properly and organized.
• Support kitchen staff with deliveries, organizing supplies, and restocking as needed.
• Ensure hygiene standards are followed and maintained throughout the kitchen.
• Assist in unloading and storing deliveries, ensuring stock is properly stored.
• Help with cleaning and tidying of the kitchen at the end of service.
