Job summary

The Hollies Farm Shop in Stretton is seeking a Kitchen Assistant/Porter to join a small kitchen team. You’ll support daily kitchen operations, assist with washing, stock rotation, and help with food preparation while maintaining high cleanliness and food hygiene standards.

This full-time role requires weekend flexibility and may involve travel across Cheshire. You’ll help with inventory, organise storage, and ensure smooth service by keeping areas tidy and efficient throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Service & Kitchen team support
• Kitchen Porter shifts - washing dishes, keeping kitchen areas clean and tidy, and putting away and stock rotating deliveries
• Assist with FoH Duties
• Assist chefs with food preparation and service when required
• Maintain excellent standards of food hygiene, safety, and compliance, throughout the kitchen and wash-up areas
• Assisting the kitchen team with general duties as required
• Ensuring cleaning schedules are completed
• Supporting waste management and recycling procedures
• Team & Operational Support
• Support the kitchen team during service
• Create and maintain a positive, collaborative atmosphere on shift
• Inventory & stock control
• Monitor stock levels, rotate products (fridge and freezer), and minimise waste
• Organising storage containers, including freezers - receive and store deliveries correctly
• Keep stock areas orderly and accessible
• Ensure inventory storage supports efficiency and cleanliness

As a Café Assistant at The Hollies Lower Stretton, you’ll be a key member of a small kitchen team, integral to the daily operations within the department & ensuring it runs smoothly and efficiently throughout the day. This is a dynamic, hands‑on role and you'll play a key part in maintaining high standards and the overall success of the department. You will be required to support the kitchen team in maintaining standards of safety, cleanliness, and presentation.
