Job summary

Nutfield Priory Hotel & Spa is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our dining operations and maintain the highest standards of cleanliness in a luxury setting. You will work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen brigade to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and a seamless guest experience.

The role offers a full-time contract, 40 hours per week, five days out of seven, with weekend shifts on a rota basis. Flexible hours can be accommodated where possible.

Qualifications

• Reliable, hardworking and enthusiastic individuals with a positive attitude and strong team ethic.
• Previous experience as Kitchen Porter or willingness to begin a career in a professional kitchen environment is desirable.
• Willingness to learn, strong work ethic and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hygiene standards across all kitchen areas including dishwashing and cleaning of equipment.
• Ensure back-of-house areas are well-presented and organised; assist with keeping utensils and service items ready for use.
• Assist with basic food preparation when required and support stock organisation and deliveries.

What will the role involve?

The role of Kitchen Porter at Nutfield Priory Hotel & Spa is essential in supporting the delivery of an exceptional dining experience by ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation. Working closely with the Head Chef and wider kitchen brigade, the Kitchen Porter plays a key role in maintaining a smooth day-to-day kitchen operation.

As Kitchen Porter, your responsibilities will centre around maintaining immaculate hygiene standards across all kitchen areas, including dishwashing, cleaning of equipment, and ensuring all back-of-house areas are organised and well-presented. You will support chefs by ensuring that equipment, utensils, and service items are clean, available, and ready for use at all times.

The role also involves assisting with basic food preparation when required, monitoring waste disposal, adhering to strict health and safety and food hygiene regulations, and supporting stock organisation and deliveries. You will contribute to the overall efficiency of the kitchen, helping the team deliver a seamless service while upholding the hotel’s standards of excellence in luxury hospitality.

This is a full-time role working 5 days out of 7 including weekends on a rota basis, 40 hours per week, which may vary depending on business.
