Job summary

Haven is recruiting a Kitchen Porter to help keep our busy kitchen running smoothly. No prior experience is required, but a background in catering is a plus. You will be part of a fast-paced team, washing dishes, assisting with basic food prep, and maintaining a clean work area.

You should be physically fit, reliable and a strong team player. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays is preferred.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required, but a background in a kitchen or catering is a plus.
• Strong work ethic and the ability to perform physical tasks (lifting, standing for long periods).
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Keep the kitchen clean and orderly by washing dishes, utensils, pots and pans, and sanitising surfaces and floors.
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by chefs.
• Help maintain stock levels by organising ingredients and unpacking deliveries.

Key Responsibilities

• Keep the kitchen clean and orderly by washing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans, as well as sanitising surfaces, equipment, and floors according to health and safety standards.
• Perform basic food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables, prepping ingredients, and assembling simple dishes as directed by the chefs.
• Helpmaintainstock levels in the kitchen by organising ingredients, unpacking deliveries, and storing items properly.

Requirements

• No prior experiencerequired, butpreviouswork in a kitchen environment or as a porter or a catering background is a plus.
• Strong work ethic, with the ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, carrying, and standing forlong periods.
• Excellent team player withgood communicationskills.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
