Job summary

Away Resorts is seeking a Kitchen Porter for Sandy Balls Holiday Village in the New Forest. The role supports the kitchen team to deliver high-quality meals and guest experiences in a seasonal, variable-hour setup.

You’ll be involved in food prep, cleaning, dishwashing, receiving deliveries, and helping to manage costs and wastage while complying with health and safety standards. Training provided and career development opportunities exist.

Responsibilities

• Working in the kitchen ensuring guests receive a memorable experience through excellent service and food quality.
• Ensuring the food preparation areas, equipment and floors are clean and hygienic.
• Washing utensils and dishes and storing them appropriately.
• Accepting deliveries, storing ingredients correctly and rotating dates.
• Washing, peeling, chopping, cooking foodstuffs and helping to prepare other items on the menu.
• Working alongside front of house and kitchen team to maximise food margins and minimise wastage.
• Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety, Food Hygiene and COSHH regulations.

What we need in a nutshell

We’re looking for a kitchen porter who can deliver delight to our holiday resort guests. You will be helping the kitchen team to run a safe, efficient and profitable food and beverage operation.

Who are we?

Sandy Balls Holiday Village is a world away from your day to day, with more trees than you can… well, shake a stick at. We have resident alpacas, a bush-craft school and forest laser tag, along with the usual holiday heroes of cycling and swimming. But New Forest holidays are also about tranquillity, which is why our Retreat spa and cosy, cottage-style lodges and caravans are here to help our guests unwind.

What you’ll be doing

You will be working in the kitchen ensuring guests receive a memorable experience through excellent service and food quality.

• Ensuring the food preparation areas, equipment and floors are clean and hygienic.

• Accepting deliveries, ensuring ingredients are stored correctly and date rotated.
• Washing, peeling, chopping, cutting and cooking foodstuffs and helping to prepare other items on the menu.

Skills, experience and qualities you’ll need

It’s the icing on the cake if you have a Level 3 Hygiene certificate and experience in the holiday sector, but don’t worry if you haven’t, we provide plenty of training.
