Responsibilities

  • Wash dishes and utensils by hand or in dishwashers.
  • Clean and sanitize surfaces and preparation areas.
  • Manage waste disposal in compliance with safety regs.
  • Assist chefs with basic prep tasks (peeling, chopping, slicing).
  • Receive and organize kitchen supplies, maintain inventory records.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols.
  • Support team and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative kitchen environment.

Job Description

We're looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Kitchen Porter to join our team in Harewood, United Kingdom. As a Kitchen Porter, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and efficiency of our kitchen operations. Working collaboratively with our culinary team, you'll ensure that our kitchen runs smoothly while upholding the highest standards of hygiene and food safety.   • Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment by hand or using industrial dishwashers, ensuring all items are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, countertops, and food preparation areas to maintain a hygienic and organized workspace
  • Empty rubbish bins and manage proper disposal of waste materials in compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, including peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients
  • Receive, store, and organize kitchen supplies and ingredients, maintaining accurate inventory records
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on kitchen equipment to ensure everything is in good working order
  • Maintain compliance with all health and safety protocols, reporting any concerns or hazards to management
  • Support the kitchen team in a collaborative manner, responding promptly to requests and adapting to changing priorities
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive kitchen environment through effective communication and teamwork
Qualifications
