Job summary

Maybourne Hotel Group, operating Claridge’s in London, seeks a Kitchen Porter to support our Back of House operations. The role focuses on maintaining clean, well-organised kitchen spaces and ensuring equipment is ready for use while contributing to smooth guest dining experiences.

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced hotel environment, be a team player with strong communication skills, and maintain high attention to detail in daily cleaning and safety tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality or hotel kitchens is advantageous.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Back of House teams.
• Willingness to perform physical tasks including lifting and cleaning duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist in Back of House operations, primarily in the kitchen area.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of Back of House areas.
• Ensure culinary departments are supported with clean, stocked equipment.
• Operate dishwasher, clean pots, pans, utensils, and crockery; keep areas safe and tidy.
• Dispose of Back of House waste correctly and support daily cleaning of external areas.

Back of House

The Back of House department at Claridge’s are the essential backbone that keeps our culinary operation running flawlessly. As a part of this hardworking team, you will be supporting the busy operation by maintaining impeccable cleanliness, ensuring equipment is ready for use, keeping the kitchen environment organised and efficient and contributing to the smooth delivery of every guest dining experience.

As Kitchen Porter you will be responsible for:

• Assisting in the Back of House Operations of the hotel, mainly in the kitchen area. This job involves manual work, heavy lifting and working with chemicals.
• Maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of Back of House areas
• Ensuring all culinary departments are well supported with clean and well-stocked equipment
• Operation of the dishwasher, cleaning pots, pans, utensils& crockery and keeping the kitchen areas clean &safe.
• Ensuring that all hotel Back of House waste is correctly disposed
• Ensuring the daily cleaning of outside areas of the hotel perimeter.

Successful candidates for our Kitchen Porter opportunity will:

• Experience as Kitchen Porter within a hospitality environment would be beneficial
• Be a team player with good communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Excellent attention to detail
