Job summary

Sodexo Group in Edinburgh is seeking a Kitchen Porter to join a busy kitchen team. The role focuses on maintaining cleanliness, supporting the team with dishwashing and stock management, and ensuring hygiene standards are met in a fast-paced environment.

You'll contribute to smooth service, work 18 hours per week (Tuesday to Thursday, 10:00am - 4:30pm) at £13.45 per hour, and benefit from being part of a global commitment to quality in hospitality services.

Responsibilities

• Clean and wash dishes and kitchen equipment, ensuring items are available when needed.
• Maintain clean and hygienic back-of-house areas and follow cleaning schedules.
• Support the kitchen team before, during and after service.
• Handle waste, bins, deliveries and stock handling.
• Maintain food safety and health & safety practices, reporting hazards or damaged equipment.
• Attend training and carry out duties to support smooth operation.

Are you reliable, hardworking and enjoy working as part of a busy kitchen team? We're looking for a Kitchen Porter to join us in Edinburgh, where you'll play an important role in keeping the kitchen running smoothly and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

In this role, you'll support the kitchen team with pot washing, cleaning equipment and work areas, managing waste, and ensuring crockery, utensils and equipment are clean and available when needed. If you're organised, have a positive attitude and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we'd love to hear from you!

What you'll do:

• Clean and wash dishes, crockery, cutlery, pots, pans and kitchen equipment, ensuring clean items are always available when needed.
• Keep the kitchen, pot wash and back-of-house areas clean, tidy, organised and hygienic throughout service, following cleaning schedules and maintaining required records.
• Support the kitchen team before, during and after service, working collaboratively with colleagues and assisting wherever required.
• Handle food waste, bins, deliveries and stock, including safely clearing waste, receiving and storing deliveries, and moving or putting away stock and equipment.
• Maintain high standards of food safety and health & safety, following HACCP, COSHH and company procedures, and promptly reporting hazards, defects or damaged equipment.
• Attend required training and meetings and carry out other reasonable duties as requested by management to support the smooth running of the operation.
