Job summary

LGH Hotels Management Ltd is seeking a reliable Kitchen Porter for Holiday Inn Cambridge to keep the kitchen running smoothly. You will assist with preparation and setup, maintain high cleanliness standards, and help create a calm, efficient environment where the team can perform at its best behind the scenes.

You will be part of a team that values reliability, cooperation and respect, contributing to food quality, hygiene and service flow to ensure guests have a positive dining experience.

Qualifications

• Reliable and hardworking, capable of following instructions.
• Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Willing to support chefs with prep and clean-up tasks.

Responsibilities

• Wash and clean dishes, pots, pans and kitchen equipment thoroughly and efficiently
• Keep all kitchen areas clean, tidy and organised throughout the shift
• Sweep and mop floors and manage waste and recycling responsibly
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling and chopping vegetables
• Receive, check and store deliveries of food and kitchen supplies correctly
• Support kitchen set-up and close-down procedures
• Clean cooking equipment and work surfaces to hygiene standards
• Follow all food safety, hygiene and health & safety guidelines at all times
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to support smooth service
• Report any maintenance, hygiene or health & safety concerns promptly

The Opportunity

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our kitchen team and play an essential role in keeping the kitchen running smoothly, safely and efficiently. This role is at the heart of the kitchen operation. By maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation, and supporting the chefs with preparation and set‑up, you will help create a calm, efficient environment where the whole team can perform at their best. Your work behind the scenes will directly support food quality, hygiene and service flow, helping to ensure guests enjoy a positive dining experience.
