Job description

We are a bold, award-winning business that prides itself on offering an eclectic range of innovative, fresh, and seasonal menus that ‘wow’ our customers within an industry-leading environment. We run friendly, welcoming, and positive kitchens with high standards, always striving to be the best we can be. These high standards rely on a team of great kitchen porters—the heartbeat of our kitchens—without whom we could not deliver!

We are looking for a Kitchen Porter to join the family.

About The Prince Of Burford

The Prince Of Burford is a newly refurbished pub and hotel converted from an 18th-century coaching inn, located in beautiful Burford on the north-eastern edge of the Cotswolds.

We have 16 stunning ensuite rooms with dog-friendly and family-friendly options available, offering the ideal base for exploring the Cotswolds AONB, Oxfordshire countryside, and historic Oxford.

Our menu focuses on locally sourced seasonal dishes and exciting takes on pub classics, complemented by a selection of award-winning Butcombe beers, cocktails, and wines behind the bar.

Inside, you'll find cosy interiors and rustic pub charm with original features throughout, along with relaxed dining spaces for both intimate meals and larger gatherings.

We are very dog-friendly and child-friendly, with a sunny beer garden featuring grassy and decked areas—perfect for al fresco drinking and dining!

If you're planning a special occasion or event, our private dining room is ideal for birthdays, wedding receptions, business meetings, and conferences.

Located at the entrance to the Cotswolds, we’re the perfect place for a weekend break or staycation, close to attractions like Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens, Cotswolds Distillery, Cotswold Water Park, Blenheim Palace, Crocodiles Of The World, and Burford Garden Company, as well as Cheltenham, Oxford, Cirencester, and Bourton-on-the-Water.

What’s in it for you?
  • The chance to work for an award-winning business, recognized for Best Food Offer (2019 & 2020) and Best Managed Pub Company (2021) at The UK Publican Awards.
  • Access to Liberation Life—a platform offering cashback with major retailers, discounts on holidays, groceries, gifts, and more!
  • A competitive hourly rate plus an equal share of tips. You get paid for the hours you work.
  • Industry-leading training and development through bespoke plans as part of our ‘Pillars of Progression’ programme.
  • Partnership with HIT training for industry-leading apprenticeship schemes.
  • Additional support and coaching from our talented kitchen teams.
  • Tools and investments in our kitchens to help you do a great job.
  • The energy of team parties, events, training courses, excellent suppliers, and industry-best rewards, discounts, and benefits—including 50% off food on shift.
  • A caring business that supports your well-being—ambassadors for the Burnt Chef Project to combat mental health stigma, along with a 24/7 Employee Assistance Program for support.
