Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a reliable cleaning operative at LVS Ascot, Sl5 8DR. The role involves washing, sanitising, and maintaining hygiene across all kitchen and back‑of‑house areas in a school environment.

You will follow health and safety regulations, manage waste, and support operations under supervision. DBS clearance is required, and a basic Food Hygiene Certificate is preferred or you can work towards one. 18+ due to safeguarding considerations.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitise crockery, kitchen utensils, and equipment.
• Maintain high standards across back-of-house areas, floors, walls, and storage.
• Assist with cleaning fridges/freezers and safe food storage.
• Crush and dispose of cardboard and packaging safely; keep waste areas tidy.
• Follow health and safety, fire, and COSHH regulations with correct chemicals.
• Report accidents or shortages to Chef or Supervisor.

What You Will Do

• Wash and sanitise all crockery, cutlery, kitchen utensils, equipment, and food service items, ensuring they are clean and ready for use.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness across all back-of-house areas, including floors, walls, bins, delivery areas, and storage spaces.
• Assist with cleaning and organising fridges and freezers and ensure food storage areas remain safe and hygienic.
• Crush and dispose of cardboard and packaging safely, keeping waste areas tidy and compliant with procedures.
• Follow all health and safety, fire, food hygiene, and COSHH regulations, always using the correct chemicals.
• Report accidents, near misses, and any equipment or chemical shortages promptly to the Chef or Supervisor

What You Bring

• A proactive and dependable approach, with a willingness to learn, develop skills, and help improve kitchen operations.
• Previous experience in a catering, hospitality, or food service environment, particularly in a school or similar setting, is desirable but not essential.

This role involves sole working. As a result of the role's health and safety risk assessment and safeguarding requirements, the minimum age for this position is 18.
