Role Overview

As the Kitchen Manager, you will oversee the house menu, food production planning, purchasing, and stock control. You will contribute to menu development, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and implement policies and procedures as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage menu, food production, and purchasing within budget
  • Ensure kitchen cleanliness and safety compliance
  • Implement operational policies and procedures
  • Provide progress reports to senior management
  • Communicate effectively with leadership team
  • Manage stock to reduce waste and meet budget targets
  • Lead and develop the kitchen team
  • Conduct performance reviews and set objectives
  • Ensure operational excellence through effective communication
  • Train staff and plan succession
  • Liaise with House Master and Matron, attend food committee meetings
  • Maintain health and safety standards, food safety compliance
  • Adhere to company policies on uniform and PPE
Person Specification
  • Excellent culinary skills and relevant experience
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Business management experience in a kitchen environment
  • Passion for food and quality service
  • NVQ Level 3 in professional cookery or equivalent (desirable)
  • Intermediate food hygiene/Level 3 certification (desirable)
