Kitchen Manager (Maternity Cover)

Contract Type: Fixed-Term (Maternity Cover)
Reporting To: Culinary Director/Co-founder

We are currently seeking a proactive and organized Kitchen Manager to join our team on a fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.

Role Overview:
As Kitchen Manager, you will play a key role in supporting our kitchen administration team, ensuring smooth operations in line with company guidelines. This role requires excellent organizational skills, leadership capabilities, and a commitment to maintaining our high standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Oversee daily kitchen management, ensuring orders are placed and received through the FoodBuy system
2. Implement and uphold Rocket's HACCP guidelines, ensuring all procedures are followed accurately
3. Manage Back of House agency bookings, timesheets, and absences
4. Maintain Rocket's databases, filing systems, and administrative records, including holiday tracking, event updates, and rota planning
5. Operate Compass-provided systems such as Origami, AIR3, People Works, Event Works, and Our Time
6. Support the operational team by reporting and scheduling repairs and maintenance
7. Manage and implement updates to the Check-it due diligence system
8. Assist Staffing and HR teams with new employee onboarding and inductions
9. Input and manage kitchen recipes within the Source system
10. Ensure kitchen areas are safe and report hazardous situations immediately
11. Supervise kitchen porters in daily housekeeping duties
12. Conduct monthly Safety Conversation training in line with HSE updates
13. Maintain up-to-date workplace safety and food safety documentation
14. Foster positive relationships within the kitchen and across other teams, promoting Rocket's team spirit
15. Demonstrate a clear understanding of allergens and food safety practices

Monitoring and Support:
You will receive regular catchups with your line manager and participate in twice-yearly appraisals to track your progress and achievements.
