Job summary

Walkabout in Birmingham is seeking a Kitchen Manager to lead the kitchen team, maintain high standards and drive growth. You will coach staff, ensure food safety, and coordinate with front-of-house to deliver a great guest experience.

In this role you will oversee onboarding, schedule management, stock control, and training opportunities, with a focus on inclusivity and excellence in a lively, sport-driven setting on Broad Street.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching and mentoring kitchen teams.
• Strong food knowledge and cooking skills.
• Up-to-date COSHH, Food Safety and H&S knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Hire and onboard new team members in an inclusive and welcoming manner.
• Lead, guide, and develop the kitchen team with ongoing training and growth opportunities.
• Maintain high kitchen hygiene and food safety standards, ensuring a safe workspace.
• Manage the kitchen schedule to ensure efficient staffing and meet labour targets.
• Conduct regular stock checks to control costs and meet performance goals.
• Proactively drive sales growth by strengthening relationships between kitchen and front-of-house.
