Job summary

Queen Elizabeth II High School invites applications for a Kitchen Assistant to support meal preparation, service, customer interactions, till operation, and maintaining a clean, safe dining area for students, staff and visitors.

This term-time role is based in the school kitchen on the Isle of Man, working 38 weeks per year with a 37-hour full-time equivalent. The advertised gross annual salary will be pro-rated based on weeks worked and part-time hours.

Qualifications

  • Experience in customer-facing catering environments is advantageous.
  • Ability to handle cash and operate tills accurately.
  • Understanding of basic food safety and hygiene practices.

Job description

This role is term time, which means that the gross annual salary advertised will be reduced proportionately based on the number of weeks worked during the academic year. Term time employees are contracted to work 38 weeks per year.

Please note that the full time equivalent for this position is 37 hours, so roles advertised with contracted hours less than 37 will be classed as part time. The gross annual salary advertised will be reduced based on the part time hours.

Join Queen Elizabeth II High School as a Kitchen Assistant, where you'll support the preparation and service of food, assist customers, operate tills, and help keep the kitchen and dining areas clean, safe and welcoming for students, staff and visitors.

This is a varied, hands on role where no two days are quite the same. You'll work alongside supportive colleagues, build your skills through training, and play an important part in delivering a high quality catering service at the heart of school life, and become part of the Catering Team at Queen Elizabeth II High School!
