Job summary

Chetwynd House Care Home, part of CARE CONCERN GROUP LIMITED, is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support our kitchen team in preparing nutritious meals for residents. You will assist with food prep, service and baking, while maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in a busy care home kitchen.

We value reliability and teamwork, offering paid DBS, pension and uniform, plus 5.6 weeks of annual leave based on a full-time contract.

Qualifications

• Previous catering or kitchen experience is essential; care home experience is desirable.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is required.
• Knowledge of food preparation, stock control and stock rotation.
• Good understanding of food hygiene, Health & Safety, COSHH and infection prevention procedures.
• Ability to prepare food, support meal service and maintain kitchen cleanliness.
• Good communication, literacy and numeracy skills with teamwork.
• Reliable, organised and practical with attention to detail.
• Commitment to delivering an excellent dining experience for residents.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, meal service and baking.
• Carry out washing up, cleaning and stock rotation to keep the kitchen running smoothly.
• Receive and store deliveries and ensure kitchen equipment is clean and safe.
• Report maintenance issues promptly and maintain hygiene standards.
• Work with the team to maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety.
