Job summary

Chetwynd House Care Home in Chilwell, Nottingham, is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the kitchen team in delivering nutritious, well-balanced meals for residents. You will work closely with the Chef Manager or Chef to ensure meals are prepared, plated and served to a high standard while respecting residents' dietary needs.

This part-time role requires catering experience and a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, with duties including food prep, service, washing up, cleaning, stock rotation

Qualifications

• Previous catering or kitchen experience is essential; care home experience is desirable.
• Hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Knowledge of food preparation, stock control and stock rotation.
• Good communication, literacy and numeracy skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A reliable, organised and practical approach with good attention to detail.
• A genuine commitment to delivering an excellent dining experience for residents.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and meal service.
• Carry out washing up, cleaning and stock rotation duties.
• Receive and store deliveries; ensure equipment is clean and safe to use.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and safety in the kitchen.
• Work alternate weekends.
