Job summary

Rushcliffe Care Group is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join the Heron Court team. You will support the preparation, cooking, and service of meals, ensuring safety, hygiene and quality in line with standards.

The role operates on a 30-hour week with a shift-based rota across 7 days including weekends and public holidays. You will work with care teams to create a positive mealtime experience for residents, handle basic food prep such as salads and sandwiches, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of food hygiene and safe working practices.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Reliable and able to maintain high standards in a fast-paced kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing, cooking and serving meals with attention to safety and hygiene.
• Support basic food prep such as salads, sandwiches and vegetables.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and follow cleaning schedules.
• Assist with stock handling, receiving, storing and rotating supplies.
• Help provide a positive mealtime experience for residents in collaboration with care staff.
