Job summary

Thomas Franks is seeking a Kitchen Assistant at our Plymouth location to work in a fast-paced kitchen, preparing fresh meals from scratch and supporting Chefs with prep. You will join a team focused on high standards, using seasonal ingredients, and delivering excellent service for our pupils and staff.

The role offers everyday food preparation experience, on-site meals, and opportunities for training and development within a leading independent catering business.

Qualifications

• You will have a genuine interest in food and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• To work well in a team, providing food and a great service.

A co-educational independent school for children of nursery age up to 11 years in Mannamead, Plymouth. Catering for 250 on site. We offer a core feeding of lunch, morning and afternoon snack and after school club with just some hospitality. This is a term-time plus contract, working 43 weeks a year, Monday to Friday.

We are looking for a talented Kitchen Assistant to join our team at one of our fabulous locations in Plymouth.

You will have previous experience of working within a fast-paced kitchen as a Kitchen Assistant.

You will be excited to work with fresh seasonal ingredients & regularly changing bespoke menus. You will be creative and have the opportunity to showcase your skillset.

Key responsibilities:

• To work well in a team, providing food and a great service


• To produce food for service using fresh ingredients, cooking from scratch and following the companies brand standards


• Ensuring company food standards are adhered to and wastage controlled.


• Ensuring all Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and allergen control procedures are followed.


• Experience of pot wash duties would be an advantage


• Great team player


• Be able to help the Chefs with some food prep
