Job summary

Hillside Care Centre, part of Hoople Group, is seeking a friendly Kitchen Assistant to support nutritious meals and maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment for residents.

You will join a welcoming team with training in Level 2 Food Hygiene provided and opportunities for development within Hoople Group. This role is full-time and site-based at Hillside Care Centre.

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to work well in a busy kitchen.
  • Good communication and teamwork in a care home setting.
  • Understanding of food hygiene principles (training provided).
  • Flexible approach and willingness to work alternate weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Support in the kitchen in compliance with food hygiene standards.
  • Prepare and serve three healthy meals daily, accommodating dietary needs.
  • Assist with food preparation and meal service.
  • Wash dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Follow food safety and health and safety procedures.
  • Monitor stock levels and report shortages.
  • Support the cook with day-to-day kitchen duties.

37.5 Hours per Week (Monday - Friday, Alternate Weekends) | Location: Hillside Care Centre

About The Role

We're looking for a friendly and reliable Kitchen Assistant to join our welcoming team. You'll play an important part in helping us provide nutritious, well-presented meals for our residents while maintaining a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support in the kitchen in compliance with food hygiene standards.
  • Help to prepare and serve three healthy and nutritious meals daily, catering to the individual dietary needs of our residents.
  • Assist with food preparation and meal service.
  • Wash dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Follow food safety and health and safety procedures.
  • Help monitor stock levels and report shortages.
  • Support the cook with day-to-day kitchen duties.
What We Are Looking For
  • A positive and hardworking attitude.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a busy environment.
  • Understanding of food hygiene principles (training can be provided).
  • Previous kitchen experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene certification (training can be provided).
  • A flexible approach to working hours with the ability to work alternate weekends.
