Job summary

Nottingham City Council is seeking a Kitchen Assistant at Djanoly Strelley Academy to support the Cook Supervisor and team in preparing and serving school meals while keeping the kitchen and equipment clean and well maintained.

This permanent role is hours 17.5 per week, term time only, 10:30am–2:00pm, on-site at Strelley, NG8 6JZ, with DBS check required and a competitive benefits package including pension and work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of good customer care practice.
• Awareness of basic hygiene principles.
• Basic numeracy skills.

• A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.

About the Role

As a Kitchen Assistant your main duties will be to assist the Cook Supervisor and existing team with the preparation and serving of school meals and maintaining the cleanliness of the school kitchen and all equipment used.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Awareness of basic hygiene principles.
• Basic numeracy skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
