Avery Healthcare is hiring a Kitchen Assistant at South Lodge Care Home in Leicester. You will support the catering function in food preparation and keep the kitchen clean to ensure safe production of meals for residents.

We expect you to have Basic Food Hygiene and knowledge of health and safety, with the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment while showing care and respect for residents and their visitors. DBS check and right to work in the UK are required or will be arranged.

Qualifications

• Hold Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and demonstrates high standards of personal hygiene.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety, Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
• Be an efficient worker, capable of a high level of sustained physical effort and able to respond to a demanding workload.
• Demonstrate initiative and display a positive and flexible aptitude to team working.
• Exhibit a caring and understanding attitude towards the residents.

Responsabilités

• Support catering in food preparation and maintain a clean environment for safe production of meals for residents.
• Ensure high standards of hygiene and safety in food handling.
• Advise on the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks, ensuring timely ordering of replacement goods.
• Respect residents and visitors, upholding the dignity and individuality of each resident.
