Job summary

Avante Care & Support Ltd in Bridge Haven, Canterbury, Kent is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our Residential Care team. You will help create nutritious meals, assist the Cook, and maintain a welcoming dining environment.

Working 27.5 hours per week at £12.75–£12.95 per hour, this part-time role offers flexible arrangements and a supportive team. A City & Guilds qualification is desirable, along with experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Prep fresh ingredients – fruits, vegetables, and more.
• Assist with meal preparation and support our Cook/Head Chef.
• Serve meals and ensure mealtimes are enjoyable for residents.
• Keep kitchen and dining areas clean, safe, and hygienic.
• Follow food hygiene, safety, and nutritional standards every day.
• Help plan menus with input from residents.
• Ensure high standards of care in line with Avante’s Eden Alternative Philosophy.
