ABOUT THE ROLE

Your role as a Kitchen Assistant involves supporting the catering function through food preparation and maintaining a clean environment to ensure the safe production of beverages and meals. You will help deliver high-quality, comprehensive service to residents.

Additional responsibilities include:

  1. Understanding safe food handling principles to uphold the highest hygiene standards in food preparation.
  2. Contributing to team efforts, responding positively to colleagues, and promptly acting on work instructions.
  3. Advising on the supply and quality of items used in tasks, ensuring timely and appropriate ordering of replacements.
  4. Respecting the dignity and individuality of residents and acting accordingly towards residents and visitors.

Our ideal candidate must:

  1. Hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and demonstrate high standards of personal hygiene.
  2. Possess knowledge of Health and Safety, including Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety, and COSHH assessments.
  3. Be an efficient worker capable of sustained physical effort and responding to a demanding workload.
  4. Show initiative and a positive, flexible attitude towards teamwork.
  5. Exhibit a caring and understanding approach towards residents.
