ABOUT THE ROLE

Your role as Kitchen Assistant involves supporting the catering function through food preparation and maintaining a clean environment to ensure the safe production of beverages and meals, delivering high-quality service to residents.

Additional responsibilities include:

  1. Understanding the principles of safe food handling to maintain high hygiene standards in food preparation.
  2. Contributing fully to team efforts, responding positively to colleagues, and promptly acting on work instructions.
  3. Advising on the supply and quality of items used, ensuring timely and appropriate ordering of replacements.
  4. Respecting the dignity and individuality of each resident when interacting with residents and visitors.
ABOUT YOU

To succeed in this role, you should embody our values of caring, supportiveness, honesty, respect, and accountability.

Our ideal candidate must:

  1. Hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and demonstrate high standards of personal hygiene.
  2. Possess knowledge of health and safety, including Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety, and COSHH assessments.
  3. Be an efficient worker capable of sustained physical effort and able to handle a demanding workload.
  4. Show initiative and have a positive, flexible attitude towards team working.
  5. Exhibit a caring and understanding attitude towards residents.
