Supporting the Chefs in planning and providing high-quality, nutritious meals tailored to our residents' dietary needs. Responsible for daily cleaning tasks and maintaining the kitchen's cleanliness.

Primary responsibilities of the Kitchen Assistant:

  • Ensure all food prepared meets Food Hygiene Standards and safe work practices are followed, adhering to relevant legislation such as the Food Safety Act 1990 and Food Hygiene Regulations.
  • Maintain and operate kitchen equipment and facilities to the standards required by statutory bodies, reporting any defects.
  • Attend and participate in training, ensuring safe methods of work and prohibiting unauthorized operation of machinery.
  • Manage stocks and stores, ensuring proper labeling and stock rotation, and keep accurate records like fridge temperature checks.
  • Show courtesy and respect to residents and their relatives at all times.
  • Adhere to the kitchen cleaning rota, including washing up and storing equipment to required standards.
