Job summary

Prime Life is seeking a Kitchen Assistant at Riversway Nursing Home in Bristol. You will prepare meals and beverages, support residents’ dietary needs, and ensure a clean, hygienic kitchen in a friendly, caring environment.

The role offers regular shifts across a 7-day week, funded DBS, holiday pay, and staff benefits including snacks on shift and a Refer a Friend scheme. Training can be provided to gain Food Hygiene/Catering qualifications.

Qualifications

• Candidate should be patient, understanding and respectful of residents.
• Experience in catering is preferred but training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals, snacks and beverages according to residents’ dietary requirements.
• Undertake quality checks on food and storage.
• Assist with food service to provide a dignified dining experience for residents.
• Maintain stock records and order stock as needed in line with policy.
• Keep kitchen hygienic and tidy, including deep cleaning tasks.

The home has been specially designed to cater to the every need of 69 residents, living with a range of physical, age related and mental health conditions that require dignified support from our caring team. It is essential that candidates for this role are therefore patient, understanding and respectful of our resident's individual abilities.

Hours of work

07.00am to 19.00- 07.00 to 15.00

Responsibilities Of Our Kitchen Assistant Include

• Preparing meals, snacks and beverages in line with our residents’ dietary requirements
• Undertaking quality checks on food prepared and food being stored
• Assisting with food service to allow our residents a dignified dining experience
• Maintaining stock records in line with company policy and food safety regulations
• Ordering stock and maintaining accurate records
• Maintaining a hygienic and tidy kitchen and supporting with deep cleaning tasks

What We're Looking For In Our Kitchen Assistant

To be successful within this role, you will have a genuine caring nature and a desire to make a real difference for our residents. You will be an experienced Cook, ideally holding a Food Hygiene and/or Catering qualification, though this is not essential as Prime Life can support you with the training necessary for this role.
