Cornerstone Healthcare is looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our award-winning team at South Africa Lodge. South Africa Lodge is a 99-bedded service providing high-quality care across 6 specialised units supporting residents with complex care needs, while offering a comfortable and safe living environment.

Our approach focuses on individualised care, considering the whole person and their unique challenges, rather than just the diagnosis. We are currently rated GOOD with CQC.

What do you need?

• Previous experience working in a similar role within the UK
• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, residents, and visitors
• A commitment to learn about residents as individuals and to create ideas to improve their lives
• Effective written and verbal communication skills

What hours will you work?

4 days a week, 08:00 to 18:00, alternating weekends

Total average of 40 hours per week.

What will you be doing?

• Supporting the catering service for residents
• Preparing and setting up meals and drinks
• Cleaning crockery, cutlery, utensils, containers, and small equipment manually and using machines
• Cleaning floors, surfaces, furnishings, and equipment manually and with machinery
• Complying with health and safety regulations, COSHH, environmental health, and fire procedures

Residents often have neurological degenerative conditions such as Dementia with underlying mental health issues, making them unsuitable for standard dementia or elderly residential care homes.
