Job description

In your role as a Kitchen Assistant at HC-One, you'll value one thing above all: kindness. It carries across every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential, and Specialist care homes. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will help prepare and serve nutritious, healthy meals that residents will love. You'll demonstrate high standards in cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene. Whether maintaining food supplies, ensuring proper fridge/freezer temperatures, training new starters, or cleaning spills, you'll always prioritize Resident wellbeing.

HC-One is looking for a Kitchen Assistant with some kitchen experience. However, it is essential that you have either an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation, or the willingness to study for one. Good record-keeping and organizational skills are necessary, as is the ability to follow recipes. When communicating with Residents or colleagues, kindness and consideration are a must.

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You should be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know the appropriate actions to take. All staff are required to attend safeguarding training relevant to their role and undertake additional related training. You should also be able to seek advice and report concerns, escalating issues if necessary.
