Job summary

Prime Life is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to be based at Lutterworth Country House near Lutterworth. The role involves preparing meals and supporting residents in a 7-day shift pattern, with DBS funded by the company.

The ideal candidate will have a caring nature, cooking experience, and ideally a Food Hygiene/Catering qualification, with training provided to support you in the role.

Qualifications

• Genuine caring nature and desire to make a real difference for residents.
• Experience as a cook or chef preferred.
• Food Hygiene or Catering qualification supported by training for role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals, snacks and beverages in line with residents' dietary needs.
• Carry out quality checks on food and storage.
• Assist with dining service to provide a dignified experience for residents.
• Maintain stock records and place orders.
• Keep kitchen clean and assist with deep cleaning tasks.

This role will be based at Lutterworth Country House, in the heart of Bitteswell near Lutterworth. The home has been specially designed to cater to the every need of 66 residents, living with a range of age related, physical and mental health conditions that require dignified support from our caring team. Additionally, many of our residents are living with early onset and advance stages of Dementia. It is essential that candidates for this role are therefore patient, understanding and respectful of our resident’s individual abilities.

Prime Life offer free transport links for applicants living within Leicester, with daily transport running from our central location to the home in time for the start and end of your shifts!

Responsibilities of our Kitchen Assistant include:

• - Preparing meals, snacks and beverages in line with our residents’ dietary requirements
• - Undertaking quality checks on food prepared and food being stored
• - Assisting with food service to allow our residents a dignified dining experience
• - Maintaining stock records in line with company policy and food safety regulations
• - Ordering stock and maintaining accurate records
• - Maintaining a hygienic and tidy kitchen and supporting with deep cleaning tasks

What we’re looking for in our Kitchen Assistant:

To be successful within this role, you will have a genuine caring nature and a desire to make a real difference for our residents. You will be an experienced Cook, ideally holding a Food Hygiene and/or Catering qualification, though this is not essential as Prime Life can support you with the training necessary for this role.
