Job summary

Prime Life is seeking a Kitchen Assistant based at Lutterworth Country House near Lutterworth, serving residents with care needs. The role offers set shift patterns across a 7-day week and paid holidays with a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities include preparing meals to dietary requirements, food service to ensure dignified dining, stock control and keeping the kitchen hygienic. Prior food hygiene/catering qualification is preferred, but training support is provided.

Qualifications

• Genuine caring nature and desire to support residents.
• Experience as a cook or in food preparation is desirable.
• Food Hygiene or Catering qualification preferred, with training provided by Prime Life.

Responsibilities

• Preparing meals, snacks and beverages in line with residents’ dietary requirements
• Undertaking quality checks on food prepared and stored
• Assisting with food service to ensure a dignified dining experience
• Maintaining stock records and ordering supplies
• Maintaining a hygienic and tidy kitchen and supporting deep cleaning tasks

This role will be based at Lutterworth Country House, in the heart of Bitteswell near Lutterworth. The home has been specially designed to cater to the every need of 66 residents, living with a range of age related, physical and mental health conditions that require dignified support from our caring team. Additionally, many of our residents are living with early onset and advance stages of Dementia. It is essential that candidates for this role are therefore patient, understanding and respectful of our resident’s individual abilities.

Prime Life offer free transport links for applicants living within Leicester, with daily transport running from our central location to the home in time for the start and end of your shifts!

Responsibilities Of Our Kitchen Assistant Include

• Preparing meals, snacks and beverages in line with our residents’ dietary requirements

• Ordering stock and maintaining accurate records
• Maintaining a hygienic and tidy kitchen and supporting with deep cleaning tasks

What We’re Looking For In Our Kitchen Assistant

To be successful within this role, you will have a genuine caring nature and a desire to make a real difference for our residents. You will be an experienced Cook, ideally holding a Food Hygiene and/or Catering qualification, though this is not essential as Prime Life can support you with the training necessary for this role.
