Job summary

Neath Port Talbot Council is advertising a part-time Kitchen Assistant role for Ysgol Castell Nedd, Neath. You will work 5 hours per week (Mon-Fri, 12:30–13:30) during term time, at Ysgol Castell Nedd, Neath. Salary is £13.27 per hour with an enhanced benefits package including LGPS and training opportunities.

There are no formal qualifications required; you will receive basic food hygiene training and related courses. The role is subject to safeguarding checks and enhanced DBS.

5 hours per week Monday - Friday - 1230 to 1330 Term Time Only

School: Ysgol Castell Nedd, 17 Woodland Road, Neath SA11 3 AL

You will be expected to assist in the smooth running of the lunchtime service and maintain hygienic conditions in the kitchen and undertake associated kitchen duties e.g.

• Washing up
• Setting up and clearing away equipment and tables
• Cleaning of kitchen, its surrounds and equipment.
• You will be assisting in the preparation of high quality and varied meals for young people.

You will work as part of a team and be able to work in accordance with agreed schedules, comply with Food and Health and Safety Regulations and work to a high standard.

There are no formal qualifications required for this post, however you will be required to undertake training of basic food hygiene and attend training courses relevant to this post.
